The installation of spherical roller bearings:

Spherical roller bearings are bearings with drum rollers assembled between the inner ring with two raceways and the outer ring with a spherical raceway. The curvature center of the outer ring raceway surface is consistent with the bearing center, so it has the same self-aligning function as the automatic self-aligning ball bearing. The load and axial load in two directions can be adjusted automatically when the shaft and shell are flexed. The large radial load capacity of spherical roller bearings is suitable for heavy load and impact load. The inner diameter of the bearing ring is taper hole, so the bearings can be installed directly or installed on the cylindrical shaft with a adapter sleeve and disassembly cylinder. Stamped steel cages, polyamide shaped cages and copper alloy car cages are adopted.


For spherical roller bearings, the use of intermediate mounting rings can prevent the tilt and rotation of the outer ring when the bearing with shaft is loaded into the box axle hole. For separable bearings, the inner and outer rings can be mounted separately, which simplifies the installation process, especially when interference fits are required for both the inner and outer rings. When the shaft with the inner ring installed in place is loaded into the bearing box with the outer ring, attention must be paid to check whether the inner and outer rings are correctly aligned to avoid scratching the bearing raceway and rolling parts. If an inner ring without flanged edges or an inner ring with flanged edges on one side is adopted in cylindrical and needle roller bearings, it is recommended to use mounting sleeves. The outer diameter of the sleeve should be equal to the inner ring raceway diameter F, and the machining tolerance standard should be d10. It is best to use a mandrel to install the stamped outer ring needle roller bearings.


Four matters needing attention when installing spherical roller bearings:

1. The installation of single row spherical roller bearing must be carried out under dry and clean environmental conditions.


2. Single row spherical roller bearings should be cleaned with gasoline or kerosene before installation and used after drying. Ensure good lubrication. Both grease lubrication and oil lubrication can be adopted.


3. When installing single row spherical roller bearings, equal pressure must be applied on the circumference of the ring end face to press in the ring. Do not use hammer and other tools to directly hit the bearing face, so as not to damage the bearing.


4. When the interference is large, oil bath heating or inductor heating method can be used in the  installation. The heating temperature range is from 80℃-100℃, and the highest temperature should not exceed 120℃.
